LAWRENCE COUNTY FAIR DEMOLITION DERBY RULES

1. All glass must be removed, with the exception of the windshield. If windshield is removed an approved screen MUST be in place. Example: 1/2" x 1/2" chicken wire.

2. 1 rollover bar permitted. 1 bar left to right behind seat. 1 bar left to right across dash. 1 bar front to rear between dash bar and behind seat bar. Tubing NO LONGER than 2 1/2" x .035. No other bars permitted inside of car. Bars must have 1/4" hole drilled for easy inspection access to measure and check tubing thickness.

3. Doors must be chained or welded shut. No rope, wire, nylon straps are permitted. Tailgates on station wagons MUST be secured. Dropping of tailgate is an automatic disqualification. All welds 3" on and 3" off. No solid welding of doors, hoods or trunks.

4. Cars must have seatbelts that work. Seatbelts must be securely mounted to floor or frame.

5. No oversized tires permitted. Maximum size is 10:00 x 15. Nothing inside of tires except tubes. No water, calcium, corn or cement.

6. All drivers must wear approved crash helmets. NO football type helmets are allowed.

7. No reinforcing of the car frame and or bumpers. No attaching of bumpers to core support or rear back panel. Bumpers isolaters can be welded to frame and can be welded to bumper. Winners and runner-ups will be inspected after race.

8. Battery may be relocated and must be securely anchored down to floor AND in approved box and cover. Example: Boat battery box or an approved homemade box. NO floor mats or carpet covers. NO rubber or nylon strap hold downs will be permitted.

9. Gas tanks can be moved, such movement must be approved and a metal firewall between driver and overtank is required. METAL TANKS ONLY. No plastic tanks permitted. Tanks and firewall must be bolted, screwed, welded or chained. No rubber or nylon straps.

10. No metal or foreign objects of any kind to be in trunk compartment or on exterior of car. All chrome, lights and plastic must be removed. Nothing on roof permitted.

11. All cars must be numbered on both doors and on roof. Drivers doors MUST be painted white. No profanity on cars will be permitted.

12. No husband and wife teams in same heat. Or brothers, or brothers and sisters. Any teaming of family or friends will result in disqualification. This will be at the track officials discretion.

13. All drivers must be at least 18 years of age and must show a VALID photo driver's license only. Drivers age 16-17 must have a parent or guardian sign release form.

14. All decisions made by judges are FINAL. No appeal process is implied or suggested.

15. No double frame cars, such as, Lincoln Continental, Chrysler Imperial, etc.

16. All cars will be ridgidly inspected. Cars not meeting regulations will not be permitted in.

17. A 12" hole in the hood surounding the air cleaner is required for fire equipment safety.

18. Arrangement of heats will be at the discretion of the director. Choosing is no permitted.

19. Any car that has stalled or is stuck and does not hit another car within a 2 minute time limit will be disqualified. Last 3 cars from heat, EXCEPT SMALL CAR HEAT go to feature. Feature will be judged by last contact NOT last car running. Winner and runner-ups will be re-inspected after the feature.
